Walking becomes culture, listening, and discovery: step by step, episode by episode.

Spiritualità e Eremi
Episode 1
Alle origini del Cammino: gli eremi del Garda

The first episode of Passi di Tignale takes us to the origins of the Cammino di Montecastello, where history and spirituality intertwine with the wild nature of Lake Garda. Among the cliffs overlooking the water, we discover the remains of the ancient hermitages of San Giorgio in Varolo and Sant’Erculiano in Campione: places of silence and meditation that, since the Middle Ages, have drawn hermits and saints.

Through testimonies and impressions, the narrator’s voice—representing the step of each of us—guides us in a story that conveys the mysterious charm of these hidden places, guardians of legends, faith, and the unique landscapes of the Garda Bresciano.

Limonaia
Prà de la Fam

Episode 2

In this second episode, we’ll take you along the CAI 260 trail, from Prà de la Fam to Oldesio — through century-old lemon houses, breathtaking landscapes, and stories of light and memory.

Discover the charm of the path, listen to the voice of the land, and let every step guide you — among the scent of lemons, the silence, and views that open the heart.

Santuario di Montecastello
Episode 3

In this third episode we climb from Oldesio up to the Sanctuary of Montecastello in Tignale, among ancient churches, 18th-century chapels, and stories rooted in the Middle Ages. Guided by the voice of the land, we discover the spirituality of a unique place overlooking Lake Garda, where pilgrimages, memory, and landscape have been intertwined for centuries. A path that leads upward—through silence, devotion, and timeless views.

Sentiero delle Operaie
Episode 4

The final stretch of the Montecastello Trail in Tignale opens onto Monte Cas, where the First World War fortifications recall a time when these heights marked both a stronghold and a border. From here, the path descends toward Prabione, winding through woods, dry-stone walls, and traces of rural life that shaped the landscape for centuries.
It is along this part of the route that the stories of the women who once walked the so-called “workers’ road” intertwine — making their daily journey on foot to the cotton mill in Campione. A tiring, everyday path that today becomes a collective memory.

The descent continues all the way to Campione, nestled between the lake and the rock, where the sound of the water marks the end of the journey. It is a symbolic place: an arrival point, but also a gateway from which to look at the territory anew — through its communities, its landscapes, and its transformations. The trail ends here, where mountain and lake meet.

But what remains is the step that carried us.
